Late Work: In adult life we are given deadlines to meet by our employers, family, bill collectors, etc. They all expect us
to meet their deadlines to the best of our ability. In order to better prepare you for the world ahead of you I will deduct
10 points for each day an assignment is late.

If you are not at school: If you are absent on Monday, then you will have until Wednesday to make up your work. You
will have the number of days you are out plus one more to turn in your missing work. You will be responsible for your
makeup work plus any assignments given after you come back. Having to do makeup work does not excuse you from
keeping up with the rest of the class upon your return. If you have questions about a specific assignment, see the
teacher after independent work has started.

**Also, it would be best if you get two or three classmates phone numbers so you can call them should you need to be
absent or forget what your homework is. Also you may check the edu20 website.

Students need to make up tests or quizzes within one week if they have missed the entire unit. If you are absent only
the day the test or quiz was given then you need to make it up the day you return.

Daily Assignments: All daily assignments are due the day they are assigned. All daily assignments are to be placed in
your classes drawer of the box on the student table if they are completed on paper. If completed on edu 20 then they
need to be submitted electronically. If you do not turn in your daily assignment I will count off 10 points per day. Make
sure all work has your name, class period and date on it.

Be prepared: Come to class with all needed supplies. I do not have the money to purchase supplies for all my classes. It
is your responsibility to bring needed supplies yourself. If you are in class and decide not to complete or participate in
class work that day you will be assigned a grade of 1. This will let me know you choose not to work that day. This work
can not be made up!

Classroom operating procedures: Students enter the classroom quietly. Pick up any new papers to be distributed from
the student table. You have 5 minutes from the last bell to log into your computer and complete your early work.

Tardy policy: You will be counted as tardy if you are not in the classroom and in your assigned seat when the last bell
rings. You must sign in on the clipboard by the door if you are tardy and quietly have a seat. All absentee slips are to be
given to the teacher upon entering the room. I will follow the tardy policy of the school.

Classroom etiquette: Students are to sit quietly during classroom instruction, PA announcements, and student
presentations. PA announcements are important to students as well as teachers. We all need to know what is going on
around us and what is required of us. Talking will be handled according to the school discipline policy.

Students are not to leave their seats to put papers in their class drawer or sharpen pencils during the teacher’s class
discussion, PowerPoint presentations, videos, etc. You will have time for this during seatwork or group work.

Hall Pass: Any teacher needing to see you during my class time will need to provide you a note prior to class or call me.
You will be issued a hall pass and must return this pass to me upon your return.

School rules: All school rules will be enforced. Please honor them, as I do not want to refer anyone to the
administration but will if needed.

Misc. :

No gum or food in class. You may have water in a closed plastic container with a screw lid. No water on
your desk if you have a laptop on the desk.

Do not communicate with improper hand gestures, rude phrases or inappropriate language.

Do not enter the back lab or touch the equipment without the instructor’s permission. Doing so could lead
to suspension per administration.

You must Interact with the class during discussions and problem solving. Not doing so will affect your
participation grade.

No horseplay!

Do not write on the top of desks or any other school property. If caught you will be responsible for staying
after class for a week to clean desks or the room. (First offense only) Second offenses will be handled per
the school hand book.

Do your own work unless assigned to a group. A grade of “0” is the consequence for cheating! If you are
caught copying the grade obtained will be divided by two of you. For example, if you made a 100, each of
you will get a 50.

All electronics are to be turned off or put on silent. They are to remain out of sight and off your desk at all
times. If your parent needs to get in touch with you they need to call the office and their call will be
transferred to the classroom.

No spiral notebook paper turned in. If you must use it make sure your paper has a clean edge on it when
turned in.
Class dismissal: The bell is my signal that I may dismiss class. It is NOT your signal that the class is dismissed. My
standards must be met each day before you may leave.

Everyone is to be in his or her seat and quiet.

The room is to be neat and inside of desks cleaned out of trash.

Chairs and tables are to be in their original position.
